We publish web-native, interactive learning resources developed by our editorial team, and augment and web-enable content from other publishers too. Lead Software Engineer & Senior Rails Developer

What we're looking for 

Soomo is looking for the right person to lead and grow our technical team as it expands to support a rapidly growing user base. This position requires both hands-on coding and building and managing a small team. You are the ideal candidate if you've had first-hand experience with most facets of cloud-based web-app development -- including architecture, design, coding, usability, testing, QA, scaling, and optimizing -- and are ready for a fresh start running your own shop.

Instructor Support Specialist - Psychology Desk

What we're looking for 

This position functions as an instructional design consultant/teaching assistant and is responsible for providing support to instructors who are using our online interactive psychology textbook to teach the introductory survey course. Support responsibilities include customizing each webtext to meet the learning objectives specified by instructors as well as providing custom reports on student learning activity. Internally, this position is also responsible for analyzing student feedback and webtext use patterns as well as suggesting edits to better align webtext content with learning objectives.

We want someone who

  •  has earned a master's degree in psychology or has equivalent experience
  •  has a special interest in cognitive psychology
  •  is passionate about curating and creating digital resources for teaching (or you think you could be)
  •  has some teaching experience (for example, working as a TA, adjunct instructor, high school teacher or tutor, etc.)
  •  demonstrates excellent communication skills
  •  is proficient using basic computer software such as MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Powerpoint or Mac equivalents
  •  understands the basics of instructional design (the interrelation of learning objectives, learning strategies, and learning assessment)
