Publishing Intern

Soomo is looking for great interns! Our interns gain valuable edtech publishing experience by assisting in the editorial development process and reviewing the final product. Our webtexts support introductory college courses in disciplines such as psychology, U.S. history, U.S. government, English composition, and natural sciences.


  • Assist the editorial production team with various development projects
  • Review webtexts to provide feedback on the user learning experience as well as editorial suggestions
  • Work with our Tech team to test out upcoming improvements or new features

Position Requirements

This is a part-time position in a small, collegial company with a weekly commitment ranging from 20–29 hours. Candidates must be detail-oriented and methodical individuals who love to learn.

This is a fully remote position. Currently, the following states have been approved for remote work outside of our headquartered state of North Carolina: CO, GA, IN, NM, NY, OR, RI, SC, TN, TX, and VT.

Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in a degree program

Starting salary: $18/hour

The following skills and attributes are highly desired:

  • Some teaching experience (for example, working as a tutor or TA)
  • Excellent communication skills; not afraid to ask questions
  • Incredible attention to detail
  • A knack for organization
  • Interest in learning new things
