Creative Intern

Role

Soomo is looking for great interns! Creative interns assist in the development process by conducting image research and assisting in the production of original illustrations for our webtexts. They also support the Customer Success and Marketing teams to create Help Center article images, social media posts or ads, and improve the layout and designs of documents. Our webtexts’ subjects focus on introductory college courses in disciplines such as psychology, U.S. history, U.S. government, English composition, and natural sciences.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Creative Director
  • Assist with creative development tasks, including creating custom illustrations and image research
  • Attend weekly department and all-hands meetings
  • Assist other departments as assigned

Position Requirements

This is a part-time position in a small, collegial company with a weekly commitment ranging 20–29 hours. Candidates must be detail-oriented and methodical individuals who love to learn. The internship will begin in early summer 2024.

This is a fully remote position. Currently, the following states have been approved for remote work outside of our headquartered state of North Carolina: CO, GA, IN, NM, NY, OR, RI, SC, TN, TX, and VT.

Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Starting salary: $18/hour

The following skills and attributes are highly desired:

  • Some professional design experience
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe products (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere)
  • Excellent communication skills; not afraid to ask questions
  • Interest in learning new things
